How-to guide
Screenshot to Excel, with the pictures inside the cells
Most screenshot-to-Excel and OCR tools only extract text. The product photos, the one thing that makes a shopping list understandable, are lost. Inserting them by hand in Excel means cropping, resizing and positioning every single image.
snapNsheet was built for exactly this: it finds each product photo in your screenshot, crops it to its edges and places it inside the Excel cell, aligned with the product name, quantity and price. Row heights are set so every photo is fully visible.
Step by step
- 1
Upload any shopping screenshot
Order pages, carts, wishlists, product grids or order emails from any shop or app.
- 2
Let the AI find products and photos
Each product is detected with its own image, name, quantity and price.
- 3
Preview the list
See the detected rows before downloading; the list is saved in My lists for 90 days.
- 4
Download Excel with embedded pictures
Photos are stored inside the .xlsx; no links, no missing images when you share the file.
Tips for the best result
- Open the file in Microsoft Excel (desktop or mobile) for the best photo display.
- Photos are cropped to the product only; UI buttons, badges and text around them are excluded.
- The sheet stays editable: add columns, change quantities, the totals recalculate.
Frequently asked questions
Can Excel import pictures from a screenshot?
Not by itself. Excel's “Data from Picture” extracts text only. snapNsheet adds the actual product photos as well.
Are the pictures linked or embedded?
Embedded. The images are part of the Excel file, so they stay visible when you email or share the sheet.
What photo size is used?
Each photo is scaled to fit an 85-pixel square cell while keeping its proportions.
Does it work with Google Sheets?
The file opens in Google Sheets, but embedded images display most reliably in Microsoft Excel.
